Recently, the innovative product "DBS Lead" of Boston Scientific Neuromodulation Corporation is approved by China NMPA.

This product consists of an electrode, burr hole cap, supplementary tool kit, tunneling tool, torque wrench, and connection cables. It delivers electrical stimulation pulses to the bilateral subthalamic nucleus and internal segment of the globus pallidus, providing adjunctive therapy for mid-to-late stage levodopa-responsive Parkinson's disease symptoms.

This product utilizes a combination of tip electrodes, directional electrodes, and multiple independent current sources, effectively increasing the therapeutic window for deep brain stimulation, improving target localization accuracy, and enhancing treatment efficacy, while reducing the risk of re-implantation surgery.

The NMPA will strengthen the post-marketing surveillance of the product to protect the safety of medical devices used by patients.
