Chinese mainland reports 37 locally transmitted COVID-19 cases

BEIJING -- The Chinese mainland on Thursday reported 37 new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases, the National Health Commission said in its daily report on Dec 10.

Of the new local cases, 24 were reported in Inner Mongolia, five each in Zhejiang and Yunnan, two in Heilongjiang, and one in Shaanxi, the commission said.

Also reported were 26 new imported cases in 10 provincial-level regions, according to the commission.

No new suspected cases or deaths from COVID-19 were reported, it added.

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the mainland had reached 99,517 by Thursday, including 1,222 patients still receiving treatment, of whom 29 were in severe condition.

A total of 93,659 patients had been discharged from hospitals on the mainland, and 4,636 had died as a result of the virus.

A total of 43 asymptomatic cases were newly reported Thursday, of whom 20 were from outside the mainland.
