The National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) officially identified and issued the list of its first group of key laboratories on July 11, 2019 after finishing a review of them to strengthen technical support for drug regulation.

Local medical product administrations in 15 provincial-level regions and the National Institutes for Food and Drug Control were urged to push forward management in accordance with the related requirements for the key laboratories.
