Yang Sheng, deputy commissioner of China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA), met with a delegation from the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) on Sept 28 in Beijing.

Yang briefed the delegation on China's efforts to deepen the reform of the drug review and approval system, improve the regulatory legal framework, and promote the innovative development of the pharmaceutical industry. He said that China's NMPA attaches great importance to its friendly relationship with the EDA and stands ready to take this meeting as an opportunity to continuously expand the depth and breadth of cooperation, so that more high-quality pharmaceutical products benefit the health of people of both countries.

The Egyptian side introduced Egypt's drug regulation and industrial development, and expressed the hope to further strengthen cooperation in areas such as regulatory reliance and innovative drugs.

Both sides agreed to further enhance international regulatory cooperation and boost bilateral trust.

Heads of relevant departments and affiliated institutions of the NMPA were also present.
