Yang Sheng leads delegation to 8th CIIE in Shanghai
From Nov 4 to 6, Yang Sheng, deputy commissioner of the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA), led a delegation to attend the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai.
Yang attended the opening ceremony of the CIIE and the launch event of the "Big Market for All: Export to China" series of activities. He also delivered a speech at the sub-forum on Global Drug Safety Governance and Chinese Drug Regulation Innovation, which was jointly hosted by the NMPA and the Secretariat of the Hongqiao International Economic Forum.
Yang noted that the CIIE serves as a significant platform not only for showcasing global pharmaceutical innovations but also as a valuable opportunity for sharing China's practices in drug regulatory reform and deepening international regulatory cooperation. The NMPA is willing to enhance exchanges with regulatory agencies, industry associations and pharmaceutical enterprises worldwide to jointly build a more resilient and vital global pharmaceutical innovation ecosystem and make greater contributions to protecting and promoting human health, he noted.
Relevant international guests, heads of industry associations, global heads of multinational corporations and heads of relevant departments of the NMPA participated in the sub-forum and delivered presentations.
