The National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) invited experts from the World Health Organization (WHO) to hold a special training session on the Regulatory Quality Management System (QMS) in Beijing from March 18 to 21.

The training aims to advance the development of the national vaccine regulatory system, promote the accession to the Pharmaceutical Inspection Co-operation Scheme and enhance vaccine and pharmaceutical regulatory capacity.

WHO experts from the regulatory systems strengthening team of the Regulation and Prequalification Department provided detailed explanation on WHO's QMS guidelines and shared related practices in other countries and regions, based on the assessment of China's national regulatory system for vaccines. They also discussed specific cases with participants.

The training was organized by the Center for Drug Evaluation of the NMPA. Participants included officials from relevant NMPA departments and affiliated institutions. Officials from provincial-level drug regulatory authorities joined the training online.
