Main responsibilities

(1) Carry out research on regulatory policies and regulations related to drugs, medical devices, cosmetics and safety trend assessment, put forward policy recommendations, and participate in relevant policy argumentation and effect evaluation.

(2) Collect relevant information on the economic operation of the pharmaceutical, medical device and cosmetic industries, carry out economic research on the pharmaceutical, medical device and cosmetic industries, publish research results, put forward policy suggestions and provide consulting services.

(3) Monitor information and transactions of drugs, medical devices and cosmetics on the Internet, and conduct situation analysis and big data research.

(4) Be responsible for establishing and maintaining a database of policies related to the regulation on drugs, medical devices and cosmetics, a database of medical economic information and an information database of illegal drugs, medical devices and cosmetics on the Internet, and developing and utilizing them.

(5) Edit and publish newspapers and periodicals such as Medicine Economic News, 21st Century Pharmacy, China Prescription Drug and Physician Online to promote and implement the policies and regulations on drugs, medical devices and cosmetics.

(6) Undertake other tasks assigned by NMPA.
