Main responsibilities

(1) Carry out research on licensed pharmacist qualification system and the development strategy of licensed pharmacists, participate in the formulation and improvement of licensed pharmacist qualification standards and organize their implementation.

(2) Undertake work related to Pharmacist Licensure Examination. Organize and carry out the proposition, and prepare the examination syllabus and examination guide. Be responsible for the construction and management of proposition experts and examination questions.

(3) Organize the formulation and supervise the implementation of standards and norms on the authentication registration of licensed pharmacists. Undertake the management on authentication registration of licensed pharmacists.

(4) Organize the formulation of standards on authentication registration and continuing education of licensed pharmacists. Draft the practicing standards and norms of licensed pharmacists, and provide assistance in carrying out research on the policies for the deployment and use of licensed pharmacists and relevant supervision work.

(5) Undertake the construction, management and maintenance of the national licensed pharmacist management information system, and collect and report the relevant information.

(6) Guide the local departments to carry out qualification authentication of licensed pharmacists.

(7) Carry out international (regional) exchange and cooperation in the qualification authentication of licensed pharmacists.

(8) Assist in improving the ability and academic qualifications of licensed pharmacists.

(9) Undertake other tasks assigned by NMPA.
